Move to 'Bishops' sagas'?

[edit]

I was wondering if there was a reason the article is named 'saga' and not 'sagas'. Despite visiting the page on and off for years I only just noticed while I was planning a Navbox for it. Are we happy for the article to be moved to Bishops' sagas? C1614 (talk) 11:22, 26 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds like a good idea to me. Indeed, I'd suggest you could be bold and just make the change :-) Alarichall (talk) 22:03, 26 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. I see from the page history that it used to be 'Bishops' sagas' but User:Anders Feder moved it. But other saga-genres on Wikipedia are plural so Anders Feder's decision seems rather idiosyncratic. Alarichall (talk) 22:07, 26 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for replying. Will get on to it. C1614 (talk) 09:47, 27 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Tried and was met with this:
"The page could not be moved, for the following reason:
The page could not be moved: a page of that name already exists, or the name you have chosen is not valid.
Please choose another name, or use Requested moves to ask for the page to be moved.
Do not manually move the article by copying and pasting it; the page history must be moved along with the article text."
Any thoughts on what to do? C1614 (talk) 10:06, 27 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It's the plural form that is idiosyncratic, as far as I'm concerned. We don't say a book is a "thrillers", for instance, we say it's a "thriller". The plural form is used about the collection of individual works that constitute the genre, but not about the genre as a concept in and of itself. @C1614: If you wish to move the article back, I believe you need to request it on one of the noticeboards.--Anders Feder (talk) 19:22, 27 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
